Why Color Grading is Essential in Video Production
Raw camera footage is flat and lacks visual contrast. Color correction fixes white balance and exposure issues, while color grading establishes the mood and artistic tone of the story. DaVinci Resolve's node-based interface allows colorists to apply precise corrections to specific zones of an image without degrading the overall video file.
Editor Tip: Always shoot in LOG profile when recording footage. LOG captures maximum dynamic range, giving you more flexibility to color grade shadows and highlights in post-production.
